The Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago receives support from foundation and family grants, private individuals, and corporate donors. Your generosity helps us to realize our mission and deliver high-quality musical performances. As we look forward to our 2017 season, we have a goal to raise $25,000 to fund our education and performance programs. We are grateful for any donation you could make towards this goal. Please consider increasing the impact of your donation with an employer-matched donation. Whatever amount you choose, your gift helps to keep our momentum going. We hope that you will partner with us to continue making significant contributions to Chicago’s musical offerings. The OSC is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. Donations are tax-deductible.

Where does the money go?

The Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago is the next generation urban orchestra. That sounds great but what does it mean?

  • We are a musical home for young professional musicians
  • We commission new works of symphonic music.
  • We develop fusion music with a variety of genres – folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, rock, etc.
  • We share the beauty of symphonic music with Chicago elementary school students who have little, if any, exposure to the arts in their schools.
  • We are breaking the barriers between audience and performers to create a more personal experience. Our concerts are not your typical stuffy orchestral concert.
  • Absolutely no prior knowledge of classical music is necessary to enjoy an OSC concert.

How did we do?

With the invaluable assistance of our dedicated supporters, the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago:

  • Showcased world-class violinist Ilya Kaler
  • Premiered multiple compositions by Composer-In-Residence Michael Druzinsky
  • Reached over 1,200 Chicago Public Elementary School students with our Music Inspires! Outreach program
  • Enhanced our partnership with DePaul University Community Music program
